Owned and Operated by Bobby (Mac the Knife) McBride, Bobby Mac’s Mobile Knife Sharpening will be at the Plymouth Farmers’ market each month, starting on Thursday. Bobby was trained and certified as Expert Sharpener under a Hawaiian Island Master Sharpener. Bobby is no stranger to cutlery and service. Bobby has been a Culinarian for over twenty five years. He knows the importance of excellence and the true meaning of service.

    You can’t beet picking in the rain! Last week in America’s Hometown was great! Let’s do it again…

    We’ll be bringing tables full of delicious organic produce this week: arugula, basil, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, collard greens, fennel, garlic scapes and green garlic, kale, kohlrabi, many different types of head lettuce, lettuce mix, radish, turnips, summer squash, eggs, and maybe more…

    Come and join us Friday night at the Mayflower brewery where we’ll be celebrating and tasting their new release! Food, great beer, great friends, and great music!  Thanks for your support, and don’t take food from strangers! -Dave

    It’s an exciting week here at the farm and we will have a lot of spring treats … beautiful lettuce, kale, baby arugula and we have high hopes to have organic strawberries again as long as the rain holds out. I can’t believe I said that! The little bit of rain we got was a godsend … we still need more but it doesn’t make the strawberries very happy. However there is always an upside the shiitake mushrooms love the rain!  Looking forward to seeing you all this Thursday at the farmers market and as always thank you for your support!

  • Tasteful Adventures

    We are serving up some tasty dishes from around the world!

    From Cuba & Florida we have a traditional Cuban Sandwich featuring Brown Boar Farms marinated slow roasted pork, Black Forest Ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and yellow mustard served in Jenny’s Breads rolls. From Mexico we have our signature Shrimp Taco. The shrimp is marinated with Patron Tequila and lime juice then grilled. Served with Apple-jicama-cabbage slaw and finished with Elotes (grilled corn with Cotija cheese, mayo, lime and chili powder. Also from Mexico is our Carnitas Taco featuring Brown Boar Farms slow braised pork, choice of cilantro or parsley and lime wedge. From the Middle East region we have a Falafel pita wrap with Tzatziki, Hummus, lettuce from Plato’s Harvest Organic Farms and tomato slices. We are also offering our Falafels in our basket of three topped with Tzatziki. From Puerto Rico, we will be frying up Picadillo (beef) Empanadas and Pork Empanadas, featuring Brown Boar Farm s pork. Last, but not least, we will be frying up some Tostones (green plantains). We pride ourselves on making everything (sans tortillas and breads) from scratch and use all natural and organic-as-possible ingredients.

    Gluten-Free Snicker Doodle Cookies! We will also have Gluten-Free Cupcakes, slices of Gluten-Free Carrot Cake, Gluten-Free Breads, English Muffins and more!

  • Jenny’s Bread

    More garlicky greens this week for the flatbreads; this week’s will feature spinach and chard from Plato’s Harvest and sauting greens from Skinny Dip as well as garlic from Web of Life Organic Farm. Look of the garlic and rosemary ones as well. And, back by popular demand, golden cheese pizza doughs made with Atwell’s Gold Cheese from Naragansett Creamery. And always your favorites-anadama bread, crusty peasant bread, and-couldn’t come without them- double chocolate buns! And while the strawberries last, buttermilk biscuits for shortbread!

    A recipe from Jenny: Strawberry Shortcake 
    Rinse and slice a quart of fresh strawberries. Make a simple syrup by heating to dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of sugar in a 1/4 water. Remove from heat and drop in an ice cube to chill a bit. Pour over berries and toss. Allow to sit for about a half hour if you can wait that long. In the meantime whip some cream with a little powdered sugar and a few drops of vanilla. Split a biscuit or a double chocolate bun (toasting it first in a cast iron pan with a little butter is a nice touch for this application). Fill with strawberries and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Bon appetit!

    Our menu this week features beef from Whips Farm, Chicken from Copicut Farm, fish from Jordan Bros, zucchini from BOJ Farm, salad greens from Skinny Dip Farm, cranberries from Fresh Meadows Farm, lemon olive oil from Omega Olive Oil and garlic scapes from Rye Garden. Eat local, shop local and enjoy! Meet me at the Market!

    Menu for Thursday, June 18:
    Sliders- topped with bacon, onion jam and pickles, served on a house made challah roll
    Chicken wings- grilled, topped with chipotle aioli and zucchini slaw
    Meatballs- with cherry pepper BBQ sauce, topped with zucchini slaw
    Steak tips- grilled and served with a side of potato salad with garlic scapes
    Fresh fish- grilled and served over organic salad greens with pickled cranberries and lemon vinaigrette.
