Owned and Operated by Bobby (Mac the Knife) McBride, Bobby Mac’s Mobile Knife Sharpening will be at the Plymouth Farmers’ market each month, starting on Thursday. Bobby was trained and certified as Expert Sharpener under a Hawaiian Island Master Sharpener. Bobby is no stranger to cutlery and service. Bobby has been a Culinarian for over twenty five years. He knows the importance of excellence and the true meaning of service.

  • Plato’s Harvest Organic Farm

    Well, I just spent three hours rounding up 6 loose cows, the most stressful thing in the world… it’s going to be a quick note this week….

    We’ll be bringing arugula, basil, glorious beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, collard greens, cucumbers, fennel, garlic scapes, green garlic, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce (floating heads of red bibb!), escarole, radish, turnips, summer squash and eggs. And maybe more….great week last week on the grassy green! Let’s do it again!

    It is is the time of year when Steph and I become firemen more than farmers. It seems every job here is like putting out a fire. Carrots must be weeded now! Lettuce must be picked now! Chicken fence must be moved now! And did those goats get out again?!!!! Do I sound like I’m complaining? Let’s take a moment to reflect on being buried in 10 feet of snow.

    Ah. Life is good! We’re keeping a close eye on the weather and if we don’t get too much rain, we will have our tasty organic strawberries again at the market on Thursday – along with lots of lettuce!!!!  And for those of you that have been asking – O’Malley is starting to behave or trying to ….we find having a box of his toys put out for him keeps him busy while we work. Now where is his pink stuffed Lamb? Add it to the list.

    Roasted Napa cabbage
    6 tbsp olive oil
    6 cloves of garlic
    6 cups shredded Napa cabbage
    Salt pepper

    Chop the garlic, mix all the ingredients together put on a baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes or until the top pieces of cabbage start to turn a little brown.

  • Tasteful Adventures

    We are serving up some tasty dishes from around the world!

    From Cuba & Florida we have a traditional Cuban Sandwich featuring Brown Boar Farms marinated slow roasted pork, Black Forest Ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and yellow mustard served in Jenny’s Breads rolls. From Mexico we have our signature Shrimp Taco. The shrimp is marinated with Patron Tequila and lime juice then grilled. Served with Apple-jicama-cabbage slaw and finished with Elotes (grilled corn with Cotija cheese, mayo, lime and chili powder. Also from Mexico is our Carnitas Taco featuring Brown Boar Farms slow braised pork, choice of cilantro or parsley and lime wedge. From the Middle East region we have a Falafel pita wrap with Tzatziki, Hummus, lettuce from Plato’s Harvest Organic Farms and tomato slices. We are also offering our Falafels in our basket of three topped with Tzatziki. From Puerto Rico, we will be frying up Picadillo (beef) Empanadas and Pork Empanadas, featuring Brown Boar Farm s pork. Last, but not least, we will be frying up some Tostones (green plantains). We pride ourselves on making everything (sans tortillas and breads) from scratch and use all natural and organic-as-possible ingredients.

    The basil is in! That means pesto flatbreads this week made with organic basil and garlic from Plato’s Harvest and Atwell’s Gold cheese from Narragansett Creamery.

    Tip from Jenny:
    Pizza tip: when making pizza with fresh basil, reserve basil until baking is done and sprinkle on once it’s out of the oven. You get a fresher taste and it looks prettier too.
